LEAGUE OF PROS (LoP) TO LAUNCH INTER-DISCIPLINARY LEAGUE AND INDUCT DR NOXOLO GROOTBOOM INTO INAUGURAL HALL OF FAME
Pretoria, South Africa – The League of Pros (LoP), a dynamic Pan-African think-and-do tank, will officially launch on 24 September 2025, where it will also induct renowned veteran newsreader Dr Noxolo Grootboom into its inaugural Hall of Fame.
Guided by its vision “To be the premier Pan-African think-and-do tank to drive systems change by mobilising interdisciplinary professionals working with all sectors of society,” the League of Pros seeks to unite professionals across diverse sectors to collectively address Africa’s most pressing developmental challenges.
Organised into sectoral caucuses, LoP provides a prestigious platform for knowledge exchange, professional collaboration, and collective dialogue. The launch event will convene academics, professionals across industries, representatives of professional bodies and trade unions, government entities, corporates, non-profit organisations, and influencers committed to advancing Africa’s development trajectory in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The launch will also unveil the LoP Hall of Fame, honouring exceptional professionals whose contributions have transformed their fields. The inaugural honouree will be veteran Xhosa newsreader Dr Noxolo Grootboom, celebrated for her four-decade career and her lifelong dedication to promoting and preserving indigenous languages.
Professional Caucus Sessions, facilitated by seasoned experts, focusing on sector-specific challenges and solutions across fields such as law, leadership, academia, marketing and communication, governance, and more.
“The League of Pros is more than a network; it is a movement of interdisciplinary professionals who believe in harnessing collective expertise to drive Africa’s transformation. This launch is a call to action for all professionals to rise beyond their sectors and work together for systemic change,” said the League of Pros Chairperson, Adv. Justice Mavundla.
